Journal of Communicable Diseases (JOCD; e-ISSN: 2581-351X & p-ISSN: 0019-5138) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed and open-access journal published by us and is the official publication of Indian Society of Malaria and Other Communicable Diseases.

The first issue of the publication entitled “Bulletin of the National Society of India for Malaria and Other Mosquito-Borne Diseases” the precursor of “Journal of Communicable Disease” was brought out in 1953.

The name of the journal was changed to “Bulletin of the Indian Society for Malaria and Other Communicable Diseases” in 1964 and subsequently, to “Journal of Communicable Diseases” in 1968. The Journal started its quarterly publication from 1969 under the editorship of Dr. S. L. Dhir, the then President of the Society.

This journal accepts articles electronically and manuscripts can be submitted online.  Today, the Journal of Communicable Diseases publishes 975 copies at quarterly interval.

 

Focus and Scope

To advance knowledge regarding the cause, prevalence, epidemiology, treatment, prevention and control of Communicable Diseases such as Malaria, Tuberculosis, Ebola, Hepatitis, Rabies, Diarrhoea, Herpes, Shigellosis, Meningitis, Gas Gangrene, Leprosy, Dengue, Plague, Polio, HIV/AIDS, Epidemiology related to Infectious Diseases, HIV/ AIDS, Contact Infection, Bacterial Infection, Viral Diseases, Parasitic Diseases, Rubella, Tropical Neglected Diseases, Tick Borne Infections, Typhoid and Zika.

To stimulate scientific and practical interest among professionals, academicians’ familiar people and organizations in the prompt and effective application of treatment, prevention and control methods,

To disseminate such knowledge both to scientists and to the general public.

 

Abstracting and Indexing

It has made its place at international level and is indexed/ abstracted by all leading agencies, viz. Index Medicus including Bibliography of Medical Reviews, Quarterly Bibliography of Major Tropical Diseases, Biological Abstracts, Tropical Diseases Bulletin, Abstract of Hygiene, Excerpt Medica, U.S.S.R. Academy of Sciences and Safety Science Abstract and Index-Catalogue of Medical and Veterinary Zoology and Drugs and Pharmaceuticals.

This is an open access journal, and articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 License, which allows non-commercial use of the work as long as appropriate credit is given. Anyone using any part of our article must notify us and give our URL with the text/figure/table or any other part used.

Advertising

Usually, Journal of Communicable Diseases does not intend to take up any advertisement to be published for any commercial gains/purposes except any academic notice for any seminar, conferences, etc. However, guidelines to the authors are given in every issue of JCD being published on quarterly basis. Editorial decision is final regarding advertisements being published.
