The pursuit of health as peace and happiness across physical, mental, and social dimensions remains incomplete under the pathogenesis-driven paradigm of the past two centuries. While scientific development has advanced disease prevention and treatment, it has fallen short of achieving a comprehensive, holistic, and planetary view of wellbeing. The salutogenic model, introduced by Antonovsky, offers a proactive, comprehensive, holistic and could be a cost effective method to achieve peace and happiness. It could be an alternative by emphasizing comprehensibility, meaningfulness, and manageability—measured through the Sense of Coherence (SOC) scale. Our efforts should be to strengthen positive attitude, positive behaviours and healthy environment around us. This approach aligns with Siddharth Gautam’s Eightfold Path, which demonstrated the law of causation of happiness, and resonates with the Ottawa Charter’s five priority action areas for health promotion, i.e., to build healthy public policy; create supportive environments for health; strengthen community action for health; develop personal skills; and re-orient health services. Community Medicine, as defined by the National Medical Commission, remains influenced by Winslow’s public health framework, yet a salutogenic orientation reframes it toward positive determinants of health. This paradigm shift emphasizes strengthening positive attitudes, behaviors, and environments, while embedding sustainability, technology, human values, social justice, and equity into community participation. Salutogenic community medicine thus represents a progressive evolution—moving beyond disease prevention to health creation—preparing societies for the next level of peace and happiness in an interconnected world.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.24321/2349.2880.202603

How to cite this article:
Kishore J. https://medical.advancedresearchpublications.com/ojs-3.1.2-4/index.php/Preventive-Curative-CommunityMed/article/view/4121

Phytochemicals, the bioactive compounds found in plants, have gained significant attention for their antimicrobial potential. This paper focuses on the phytochemical composition and its role in the antimicrobial efficacy of plant extracts. The paper found that the related major phytochemicals are classified as alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids. These compounds exhibit diverse mechanisms of action, including disruption of microbial cell membranes, inhibition of DNA replication and protein synthesis, and impairment of enzymatic activity. The synergistic effects of combined phytochemicals further enhance their antimicrobial efficacy, offering a promising alternative to conventional antibiotics, especially in addressing the rising issue of antibiotic resistance. Concentration-dependent susceptibility patterns influence these plant-based compounds’ effectiveness, highlighting the importance of understanding dose-response relationships and microbial strain variability. Despite the promising potential of phytochemicals, challenges such as standardization, bioavailability, and regulatory approval remain significant barriers to their widespread clinical use. As research progresses, optimizing extraction methods and enhancing delivery systems are crucial to realizing their therapeutic potential. Integrating phytochemicals into pharmaceutical and clinical applications could provide innovative solutions for combating microbial infections, making continued exploration of this field essential for future antimicrobial therapies.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.24321/2454.325X.202609

How to cite this article:
Joshua M T, Izah S C. https://medical.advancedresearchpublications.com/ojs-3.1.2-4/index.php/Preventive-Curative-CommunityMed/article/view/5292

Background: In Medical Science, we are very much better with everything we have in the last many years from a technology point of view and how we can use medical science to investigate crimes especially using autopsies and medical legal things. Aim: We wish to examine the innovations in forensic medicine — what is working and what is not, so it alters our approach to helping persons who are injured/ill as well with how we prosecute cases. Methods: Data were retrieved from studies published between 2000 to 2025 using databases of PubMed and Google Scholar as well as reports on World Health Organization and journals about forensic medicine. We selected articles that dealt with closely related topics, such as pathology and DNA profiling. Results: Techniques such as DNA sequencing and forensic imaging represent some of the most transformative advances in medicine today. These technologies have been extremely valuable in solving crimes, correctly identifying victims and more efficiently tracking medical legal matters. Forensic medicine — which is vital, for example by caring for people while discovering in the cases of crimes victims of disasters and for assuring the correct functioning of the legal system. We need to ensure that we have established centres of forensic medicine which train individuals well and use the latest technology ensuring that the medical legal system works better behind our justice delivery.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.24321/2454.325X.202610

How to cite this article:
Sharma R, Nair P, Verma A, Kulkarni S.
