Spectrum of Post-COVID-19 Complications in Pediatric Patients: A Case Series
Abstract
The COVID-19 epidemic posed significant challenges to global health systems, highlighting the need for research into the virus’s complex pathology and the development of targeted interventions. Despite existing management options, post-COVID complications in paediatric patients with underlying haematological and immunological vulnerabilities present a pressing concern. This case series presents four paediatric patients with complex post-COVID complications and underlying disorders, including chronic myeloid leukaemia with disseminated intravascular coagulation, Evans syndrome with coeliac disease, Guillain-Barré syndrome, and multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C). These cases underscore the importance of early recognition and multidisciplinary management in achieving optimal outcomes.
