Abstract

Introduction:
The advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare is transforming the delivery of medical services, making it essential for future healthcare professionals to possess adequate knowledge and a positive attitude toward its application.

Objectives:

  • To assess the knowledge regarding the use of AI in healthcare among student nurses of a selected College of Nursing in Delhi.
  • To assess the attitude toward the use of AI in healthcare among student nurses of a selected College of Nursing in Delhi.

Methods:
A quantitative research approach with a non-experimental descriptive design was adopted. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from 102 nursing students at Rufaida College of Nursing, Jamia Hamdard (Deemed-to-be University), New Delhi. A non-probability convenience sampling technique was used. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics.

Results:
The findings revealed that 53% (n=54) of students had poor knowledge regarding the use of AI in healthcare, 38.2% (n=39) had average knowledge, and 8.8% (n=9) had good knowledge. Regarding attitude, 36.3% (n=37) of students demonstrated a positive attitude, 63.7% (n=65) had a neutral attitude, and none exhibited a negative attitude toward the use of AI in healthcare.

Conclusion:
The study indicates limited knowledge but a generally neutral to positive attitude among student nurses toward AI in healthcare. These findings highlight the need to integrate AI-related content into nursing education to better prepare future healthcare professionals for technological advancements.
