Abstract

It is estimated that the incidence of animal bites in India is 1.7% (or 17 per 1000
persons). These bites could be caused by rabid animals. Rabies is an endemic,
highly fatal disease in India and other 150 countries, which is also a vaccine
preventable disease. The objective of this study is to describe the profile of animal
