Abstract
Rabies is an important public health problem worldwide andmore than 50,000
people die annually of the disease. Rabies is transmitted to humans usually by
bites, scratches or licks of rabid animals, dog being the commoned and primary
source of infection in all rabies endemic countries and accounts for 96% of rabies
cases in the Southeast Asia (SEA) region. Due to paucity of data regarding the
