Abstract
Human RIG represents the gold standard in the Post Exposure treatment of
rabies, but HRIG is a very expensive, available only in limited quantities and that
too in industrial countries. Its high cost makes it virtually unaffordable in
developing countries. In India the cost of single treatment with HRIG is
equivalent to 6 months wages of an Indian Labourer.
